The fried chicken was excellent. My friend and I split an 8 piece bucket. Not only did we finish the 8 piece bucket, we bought another one to take home for the fridge. The iced tea mixed with lemon aid was really tasty. It was a great meal and next time I’m in Belle Glade I’ll stop in for sure.

Today we drove over 1 hour to try the food. The BEST liver & gizzards combo ever! Fried chicken is genuine. The sides -if ordered w/combo - are really small but that’s ok. Everyone working in there plays an intricate part. Older man came out from working in the kitchen to scrub down tables with cleaner and I mean he scrubbed them. But the young lady who held down the order desk & cashiers desk, she really is the person keeping it all flowing. We ate in, 99% took food to go. Check your orders, they are non-stop and can miss something. See you soon

Don't let anyone fool you—Belle Glade is a hidden gem! As your trusty Google local food guide (yep, that's me!), I had the pleasure of visiting the original Dixie Fried Chicken in Belle Glade. The building may have seen better days, but the food is still top-notch! Located at 133 Dr. MLK Blvd., this place offers a menu packed with flavor. I couldn't choose between the chicken and seafood, so I went for both! While they don’t have a combo meal, the individual orders come in the classic white box. You can find everything from fried chicken and BBQ chicken to fried pork chops, catfish (fillet or whole), shrimp, and even jalapenos, corn dogs, and corn nuggets. Don’t forget the sides: French fries, mashed potatoes, macaroni, coleslaw, baked beans, and more! Oh, and you have to try the banana pudding—but get there early because it goes fast. For those looking for something special, chicken and dumplings are available on Mondays only, and chicken and fish sandwiches are on the menu too. Wingettes with sauce are a must-try, and hush puppies? Absolutely delicious! The best part? The staff knows most customers by name. It feels like home here. You can dine in or carry out, and they’re doing some light renovations behind the counter. I recommend calling in your order for a quick pick-up. If you're in Belle Glade, make sure you stop by—you won't regret it!
